David Johnsonius, age 63 of Paris, TN, died Thursday, January 25, 2018 at ContinueCARE Hospital at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY.


He was the former co-owner, Operator and President of Johnsonius & Sons Heating and Air in Paris, TN, where he worked for many years.  He also worked in Plant Operations at Henry County Medical Center for 15 years.  He was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the US Navy.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Paris and attended Tennessee Valley Community Church (TVCC). He was a past exalted ruler of the Elks Lodge and past president of Paris Little League.  He enjoyed hunting, golfing, watching sports, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family.


David was born September 29, 1954, to the late James Stark Johnsonius and the late Melba Eloise Headden Johnsonius.


David was married May 26, 2001, to Janice Marie Scott Johnsonius, who survives, of Paris, TN.


Along with his wife, he is also survived by four children, Daniel Stark (Miranda) Johnsonius of McKenzie, TN, Amy Marie Smith of Paris, TN, Michael (Ashley) Smith of Puryear, TN, and Timothy Smith of Henry, TN; two sisters, Linda Johnsonius of Paris, TN, and Kate Johnsonius of Eureka Springs, AR; 13 grandchildren; four nephews, Ray (Richar) Summers of Paris, TN, Stark Summers of Paris, TN, Will Hohengarten of Austin, TX, and Paul Berney of Knoxville, TN; one niece, Emily (Brandon) Vandrey of Omaha, NE; and several other nieces, nephews, family and friends. 


 In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, James Albert “Jimmy” Johnsonius; and two grandchildren.


Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. There will be a memorial visitation Saturday, February 17, 2018, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, with the memorial service beginning at 12:00 pm at TVCC in Paris, TN, with Steve Gallimore and Arthur Lodge officiating.


Honorary pallbearers will be the Patriot Guard Riders.


Burial with Military Honors will follow the service in Maplewood Cemetery in Paris, TN.
