Denton Evans, age 82 of Paris, TN, died Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN.
He retired after many years as a supervisor for the Dairy Herd Improvement Association. He also was a longtime farmer. Denton attended Birds Creek Baptist Church in Paris. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and loved his grandchildren.
Denton was born February 10, 1937, in Big Sandy, TN, to the late James Elias Evans and the late Ronie Alice Evans.
He was married June 29, 1957, to his wife of 62 years, Iva Lou Crowder Evans, who survives, of Paris, TN.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by one daughter, Alice (Scott) Massey of Paris, TN; one son, Rusty (Marcy) Evans of Paris, TN; one sister, Rita (James) Williams of Paris, TN; one sister-in-law, Maureen Evans of Memphis, TN; three grandchildren, Amber (Eric) McCool, Matt (Samantha) Massey, and Jonathan Cole Evans; one step granddaughter, Callie Larson; two great grandchildren, Seren McCool and Sabriel McCool; and three step great grandchildren, Eli Smith, Breann Smith, and Bryant Ward.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Evans and Rian Evans.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. The body is to be cremated. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 10, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Birds Creek Baptist Church in the Whitlock community of Paris, TN.
