Janet Holley Middleton, age 65 of Paris, TN, died Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at her residence in Paris, TN.
She retired after 30 years as a teacher from the Henry County School System in Paris, where she taught business and marketing at Grove, Henry County High School, and the Tennessee Vocational-Technical School. Jan was a member of the former Hico Church of Christ in Cottage Grove. She was a member of the Beta Rho Sigma Phi Sorority and the Paris Moose Lodge. Jan loved golfing, gardening, and her dog, Hank.
Jan was born January 28, 1954, in Murray, KY, to the late Alvie Wade Holley and the late Kathryne Jones Wilkins Holley.
She was married October 14, 2001, to Tony Middleton, who survives, of Paris, TN.
Along with her husband, she is also survived by her two daughters, Morgan (Dejuan) Vaughn of Paris, TN, and Marcia (Brett) Wimberley of St. Louis, MO; one sister, Betty Clayton of Paris, TN; her mother-in-law, Margaret Middleton of Puryear, TN; six grandchildren, Wells Wimberley, Maddy Wimberley, Kaden Hillard, Kyla Henshall, Hendrix Vaughn, and Evelyn Vaughn; one niece, Lori (John) Cappa of Bedford, NH; and several cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Tommye Clayton; one nephew, Greg Clayton; and special aunt, Bernice Rainey.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Friday, October 4, 2019, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, and continue Saturday, October 5, 2019, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. The funeral service will be Saturday, October 5, 2019, at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Steve Gallimore and Mike Wimberley officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Derek Clayton, Dustin Clayton, Dejuan Vaughn, Max Middleton, Ricky Middleton, and Mike Middleton. Named as an honorary pallbearer is Timmy Middleton.
Burial will be in Walker Cemetery in Paris, TN.
