Obituary

Steven Erik Anderson, age 71 of Paris, TN, died Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at AHC Paris after a long battle with cancer due to exposure to Agent Orange while proudly serving in Vietnam.

Steve joined the Navy after graduating from high school.  He volunteered to go to Vietnam as a Seabee whose motto is "We build, we fight."

Upon returning home, Steve started working for the City of Calistoga located in the northern part of the Napa Valley in California.  He retired 13 years ago after 38 years as the Water Systems Superintendent for the City of Calistoga. He was born and raised in the Napa Valley where he lived most of his life.

After retirement, Steve and his family moved to Tennessee, the state where both his mother and mother-in-law are from. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and British mysteries. Steve loved the Lord and he was a dedicated Christian. He frequently took his wife's hand and asked, "Do you want to pray with me?"  He was a generous, kind man who loved helping others. Steve was a very upbeat and courageous man.  He was quiet and very reserved except when he was home with his family. He had a great sense of humor. He was loyal and honest. Steve was a true conservative, politically active, well-informed, and he loved his country.

Steve was born May 15,1948, in Calistoga, CA, to the late Otto Michael Anderson and the late Juanita "Sam" McClanahan Anderson.

Steve married the love of his life and best friend Karen Low Anderson on March 23, 1989, who survives of Paris, TN.  He was the love of Karen's life and their years together were very happy.
