William Clenoy “Bill” Turner, age 81 of Springville, TN, died Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Paris Healthcare Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Paris, TN.
He lived in the Pleasant Hill Community of Springville for over 50 years. He was an active member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, where he was a long time lay speaker and Sunday school teacher. Bill retired from Dupont in 1995 with 30 years of service as a maintenance mechanic & welder. He was an avid builder of anything with an engine including dragsters, stock cars, motorcycles, and homebuilt aircraft.
Bill was born April 24, 1937, in Vale, TN, to the late William H. Turner and the late Ruby Mae Frensley.
He was married June 2, 1957, to Faye Carter Turner, who survives, of Springville, TN.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by two sons, Rick (Toni) Turner of Vonore, TN, and Rusty (Tracy) Turner of Paris, TN; two brothers, Jimmie (Cathy) Turner of Vale, TN, and David (Angie) Turner of Huntingdon, TN; four grandchildren, Trent (Tara) Turner, Carrie (Cody) Black, Wesley (Lindsay) Turner, and Josh (Kathleen) Turner; and six great grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Saturday, May 19, 2018, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, and continue Sunday, May 20, 2018, from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm. The funeral service will be Sunday, May 20, 2018, at 4:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Dr. Barry Scott and Jerry Stephenson officiating.
Pallbearers will be David Turner, Trent Turner, Josh Turner, Wesley Turner, Cody Black, and Nathan Baker.
Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mansfield, TN.
