Anna Lou Battles

Anna Lou Battles, age 81 of Paris, TN, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Tri-Star Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Anna was born in Attala, AL, on March 3, 1944, to the late Steve Basson, Sr., and the late Flora Esterlee Hollingsworth Basson.

On December 25, 1963, she married Richard Battles, who survives of Paris, TN.

She owned and operated Mrs. Anna’s Little Ones’s for 20 years. She was a member of Oak Hill Union Church and the Homemaker’s Club. Anna loved to socialize and meet new people no matter the occasion.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Daryl (Kheri) Battles of Paris, TN; two grandchildren, Evelyn Rose Battles, and Karl Alexander Battles; two brothers-in-law, Bobby (Debbie) Battles of Paris, TN, and Billy (Rosie) Battles of Hanover, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Anna was preceded in death by two children, Lanita Battles, and Karl Edward Battles; two brothers, Steve Basson, Jr., and Snooks Basson; and three sisters, Betty Price, Billie Basson, and Ruby Jo Boyles.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Kenneth Beale officiating.

Cremation will follow the service.
