Betty Ruth Lewis, age 87 of Paris, TN, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026, at her residence.

She was born in Phil Campbell, AL, on November 4, 1938, to the late William Robert Spratlin, Sr., and the late Emma Gillum Spratlin.

On December 16, 1955, Betty married Jerry Neal Lewis. Jerry survives of Paris, TN.

Betty was a longtime and devoted member of Temple Baptist Church. She grew up in Alabama before making her home in Tennessee, where she shared 71 loving years of marriage with Jerry. She was a devoted wife who cherished her family and always made their care and happiness a priority.

She was known for her compassionate heart, joyful spirit, and wonderful sense of humor. She loved telling jokes, having fun, and bringing laughter to those around her. She also enjoyed flowers and dearly loved her pets.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by two children, Cynthia Lewis Owens of Buchanan, TN, and Martin (Libby) Lewis of Paris, TN; six grandchildren, Jill (Mike) Snow of Paris, TN, Brent (Laura) Owens of Springville, TN, Daniel Lewis of Nashville, TN, Michael Lewis of Paris, TN, Jay (Jamie) Dyer of Paris, TN, and Jon (Savanna) Dyer of Paris, TN; five great-grandchildren, Ethan Fitzgerald, Heidi Owens, Theo Kenworthy, Demi Jo Dyer, and Gabbi Elizabeth Dyer; sister-in-law, Betty Robison of Brownsville, TN; special nieces, Leigh Neuwirth and Gloria McKnight; and special friends, Amy Abbott and Celisa Sykes.

Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by three sisters, Jane Shultz, Helen Clougher, and Sue Certain; one brother, William Robert Spratlin, Jr.; and one son-in-law, Wyatt Owens.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Chad Kennedy officiating.

Entombment will follow at Rose Lawn Mausoleum with Michael Lewis, Daniel Lewis, Brent Owens, Jon Dyer, Jay Dyer, and Ethan Fitzgerald to serve as pallbearers.
