Longtime Buchanan resident, Betty Lea Milam, age 91, died Tuesday April 26, 2022, at her son’s residence in Harrodsburg, KY.
She was a longtime member of Buchanan United Methodist Church and current member of The Carpenters Christian Church in Harrodsburg, KY. She belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Past Worthy Matron, and was a member of the Daughters of the Nile. Betty volunteered for many years at Henry County Medical Center in Paris and the Henry County voting precincts. She enjoyed traveling and singing.
Betty was born May 28, 1930, in Knova, WV, to the late Herbert A. Wyrick and the late Thelma Blanch Rowe Clemens.
She was married June 30, 1949, to Ozell Wilson “Crash” Milam, who preceded her in death in 2012.
She is survived by one son, Joseph Patrick (Donita) Milam of Harrodsburg, KY; one brother, Charles Robert Wyrick of Portland, OR; six grandchildren, Dylan Milam, Elizabeth (Bruce) Moffitt, Julie (Jason) Mullins, John (Sara) Abrams, Jerry McGinnis, and Bailey Milam; and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sons, Steven Wilson Milam and Richard Lee Milam; and one brother, William Wyrick.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Sunday, May 1, 2022, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and continue Monday, May 2, 2022, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. The funeral service will be Monday, May 2, 2022, at 11:00 am at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Bennie Akers officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry McGinnis, John Abrams, Bruce Moffitt, Jason Mullins, Grover Cook, and Wayne Spaulding.
Entombment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris, TN.
