Betty Paschall Nixon

Betty Paschall Nixon, age 92 of Paris, TN, died Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at AHC of Paris.

She spent 40 plus years working as a cosmetic sales representative for Avon.  She was a member of First Baptist Church Paris for many years and a member of the FBC Choir since 1946.  Betty sang for 57 years with the Harmony Girls, belonged to the original Matinee Music Club, and was a charter member of the Paris Choral Society.  She enjoyed playing the piano, traveling, and was a member of FBC Paris LLL.

Betty was born October 2, 1930, in Paris, TN, to the late Hulie Verdell Hastings and the late Lula Belle Ellis Hastings.

She was married December 25, 1948, to Leslie B. Paschall, who preceded her in death in 1984.

She is survived by one daughter, Patsy Joy (Rick) Simpson of Clarksville, TN; one son, Paul Richard (Sherry) Paschall of Puryear, TN; two grandchildren, Scott (Elizabeth) Simpson, and Dustin (Megan) Simpson; and three great grandchildren, Dakota Simpson, Braedan Simpson, and Jackson Simpson.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Mark Steven Paschall; and three sisters, Nodgel Marie Hartsfield, Barbara Ann Marr, and Carol Shankle.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Friday, December 2, 2022, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Dr. Trent Bullock officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be First Baptist Church men.

Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris, TN.
