Billy Lynn Blankenship

Billy Lynn Blankenship, age 76 of Dresden, TN, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Hillview Community Living Center in Dresden, TN.

He was born in Puryear, TN, on May 14, 1949, to the late Johnie Blankenship, and the late Jewell Catherine McCollum Blankenship.

Billy spent more than 35 years as a row crop farmer and worked as a truck driver for Dana. He was an avid horseman and enjoyed raising cattle. He graduated from Puryear School in 1967 and attended Puryear Baptist Church over the years.

He is survived by two children, Russell (Amanda) Blankenship of Medina, TN, Darrel (Mattea) Blankenship of Murray, KY; brother, James Blankenship of Puryear, TN; and three grandchildren, Claire Blankenship, Lydia Blankenship, and Alaina Blankenship.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Derrick Blankenship.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is handling the arrangements. His remains are to be cremated with a Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday, May 16th, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until  5:00 p.m. at Cherry Corner Baptist Church, 850 Cherry Corner Road, Murray, KY, 42071.
