Bobby Gene Merrell

Bobby Gene Merrell, age 84, of Paris, TN, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at his residence.

He was born on October 3, 1941, in Springville, TN, to the late James Carl "J.C." Merrell and the late Lillie Mae Johnson Merrell.

Bobby was Baptist in faith and enjoyed playing his guitar and banjo while singing. He treasured time with his family, whom he loved dearly. Bobby will be remembered for his kind and loving heart and the care he showed to everyone around him.

Bobby is survived by two siblings, Lynette Tillman of Paris, TN, and Joe David Merrell of Big Sandy, TN; nieces who cared for him, Kathy Green, Gini Lyn Greer, and Cassie Mae Morganti; and several other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings: Joy C. Dowty, Marti Johnson, Margaret Rick, Tom "Cowboy" Merrell, James Ray Merrell, and Kenneth Darrell Merrell.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN 38242, is handling the arrangements. His remains are to be cremated, and no public services will be held at this time.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the nurses and caregivers for the loving care they gave Bobby throughout his life.
