Carnell Hill Browning, age 96 of Paris, TN, died Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Patriot Health and Rehab Center in Paris.

Carnell worked for many years in quality control at the Holley Carburetor Plant before its closing. She then worked as a CNA at the McKenzie Hospital. After retiring, she served 25 years as a “Pink Lady”, volunteering at the Henry County Medical Center. For many years, Carnell volunteered working for the Henry County Election Commission. She was a member of New Bethel Church of Christ. She enjoyed spending time in her yard, and with her family. She was especially fond of her dog Rusty.

She married Cecil B. Browning December 24, 1949, who preceded her in death January 4, 2011.

She was born on October 15, 1929, in Cottage Grove, TN to the late James William Hill and the late Rosa Jane Brown Hill.

Carnell is survived by her daughter Kenitha Ferguson of Paris; two grandchildren, Marc (Brooke) Moore of Puryear, TN, and Adam (Mandi) Jackson of Milan, TN; and four great grandchildren, Rian Moore, Alaina (Justin) Hutson, Kennedy Jackson, and Aden Jackson; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to her husband of sixty-two years, she was also preceded in death by four sisters, Kathryn Browning, Garnett McFarland, Flossie McKee and Opal Brock; and three brothers, AJ Hill, Nathan Hill, and Teddy Hill.

Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St./ P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242, will be handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 4:00 until 7:00 pm, and continue Sunday, May 31, 2026, after 12:00 pm until the time of her service. Her funeral service will be held Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with John Dale and Charlie Cate officiating.

Pallbearers for the service will be Jeff Hill, Larry McFarland, Tommy Lemonds, Aden Jackson, Sean McFarland, and Trevor Wallace.

The “Pink Ladies” will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Burial will follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery.

In honor of Carnell's years of service as a "Pink Lady", memorials may be made to the Henry County Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary, 301 Tyson Ave., Paris, TN 38242.
