Charles Ray Carson

Charles Ray Carson, age 91 of Paris, TN, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at his residence.

Charles was born in Pocahontas, AR, on December 31, 1934, to the late Grover Clinton Carson, and the late Myrtle T. Jones Carson.

He married Barbara Jean Coleman on November 25, 1953. Mrs. Barbara preceded him in death on September 1, 2020.

Charles was the owner of Carson’s Body Shop which he ran for more than 30 years. He was a very active member of United Pentecostal Church (Tower of Praise) and considered his church family as his own family. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing, camping, and tending to his garden. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by four children, Donnie (Linda) Carson of Paris, TN, Dennis (Denelle) Carson of Kenosha, WI, Ronnie (Diane) Carson of Tucson, AZ, and Theresa (Rob) Toomey of Norman, OK; one daughter-in-law, Donna Carson of Paris, TN; two sisters-in-law, Pat Carson of Bloomfield, MO, and Judy Carson of Pocahontas, AR; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Charles was also preceded in death by one son, Dickie Carson; and four brothers, Truman Carson, James Carson, Frank Carson, and Ernie Carson.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is handling the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home. His funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at VanDyke Grove Cemetery in Paris.
