Darlene Gayle Smothers

Darlene Gayle Smothers, age 75 of Springville, TN died Sunday, December 15, 2024, at her residence.

Darlene was a longtime member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church, where she attended faithfully for many years. She dedicated 17 years of her career to working at the Holley Carburetor Plant before retiring after 25 years of service at Walmart. In her free time, Darlene enjoyed fishing, reading, and watching The Price Is Right on TV. She also enjoyed watching her family play pool, and keeping score for them.

Darlene was born June 26, 1949, in Cleveland, OH, to the late Herman French, and the late Frances Winsett French.

Darlene married Ralph Smothers November 27, 1968. 

Along with her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Deanna (Jeff) Dicus of Henry, TN; two grandchildren, Ivy (Charlie) Hart, Ethan (Olivia) Dicus; one great grandchild, Briggs Dicus; two brothers, Jimmy French of Springville, TN, and Michael “Bimbo” (Kathy) French of Henry, TN.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by one brother, Charles French.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. The body is to be cremated.
