Daryl Vincent Trout, age 73 of Cottage Grove, TN, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, KY.
He was born on July 11, 1951, in Frederick, MD, to the late Harry Trout, and the late Leona McCullar Trout.
Daryl was a man after God’s own heart, wanting to be in the will of God. Daryl was love, joy, kind, longsuffering, gentle, forgiving, and faithful. He was the kind of man that would go out in the middle of the night, in snow or rain, to help a stranger out of a ditch and give the shirt off his back if he had to.
He was a Son, a Husband, a Father, and a “Pappy”, but most important, a Son of God. As Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 4: 6-8, “For I am already being poured out as drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is a laid up for me, the crown of Righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved his appearing.”
Daryl began dairy farming in Frederick, MD, in 1974. In 2002, Daryl and his wife, Brenda, moved to Cottage Grove, TN, and continued to run a dairy farm, known as the Majestic View Herd. Daryl enjoyed spending time with his family, playing softball, and being “Pappy” to his grandchildren. He was known for being a very hard worker.
Along with his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Brandon (Pamela) Trout of Cottage Grove, TN, Joshua (Gloria) Trout of Woodstock, MD, and Caleb (Nicole Fowler) Trout of Aldie, VA; four brothers, Dennis (Karen) Trout of Hanover, PA, Robin (Peggy) Trout of Johnsville, MD, Terry (Cindy) Trout of Cedia, KY, and Tracey (Denise) Trout of Paducah, KY; five grandchildren, Scarlett Jo Trout, Harrison Trout, Greyson Trout, Jameson Trout, and Joshua Trout, Jr.; and one grandson, Luke, expected to arrive in November.
In addition to his parents, Daryl was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Trout.
