David E. Holt, age 84 of Paris, TN, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026, at the Tennessee State Veterans’ Home – Humboldt.
David was born in Fergus Falls, MN, on December 20, 1941, to the late Edward Holt and the late Mabel Kjono Holt.
He married Bernice Faye Holt on December 31, 1962. Bernice preceded him in death on May 2, 2020.
David was a member of Bethesda Methodist Church. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper with the 101st and 176th Airborne divisions and later served as commander of the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed hunting, working in his yard, and tending to his garden.
David is survived by one son, David T. (Jackie) Holt of Paris, TN; two grandchildren, Derek (Kathryn) Holt of Germantown, TN, and Devan (Paxton) Holt of Ellicott City, MD; one great-granddaughter, Kinley Holt.; four sisters, Karen Holt Edholm of Cottage Grove, MN, Patti Holt of White Bear Lake, MN, Becky Holt (Mark) Johnson of St. Cloud, MN, Rhonda Conrad (Delroy) Scheeler of Clearwater, MN; and ten brothers, Eddie (Dolly) Holt of Sauk Rapids, MN, Guy (Mary Lou) Holt of Sauk Rapids, MN, Jim (Mary) Holt of Sioux Falls, SD, Peter Holt of St. Cloud, MN, Windell Holt Kjono of Plant City, FL, Tim Holt of St. Cloud, MN, Tom Holt of St. Cloud, MN, Don (Marlys) Conrad of St. Cloud, MN, Duane (Karen) Conrad of St. Joseph, MN, and Darrel (Jan) Conrad of St. Joseph, MN.
Along with his wife and parents, David was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Holt.
Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and continue Friday, April 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., at Ridgeway Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026, with Emily Walker officiating.
Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery with Jerry Beasley, Matt Mooney, Oliver Mooney, Melvin Humble, Garrett Emmons, and Derek Holt serving as pallbearers.
