David Lassiter

David Holland Lassiter, age 76 of Buchanan, TN, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at his residence in Buchanan, TN.

David was born in Calloway County, KY, on April 21, 1949, to the late William David Lassiter, and the late Faye Raspberry Lassiter.

He married Cheryl Jackson Lassiter on June 6, 1969. Cheryl survives of Buchanan, TN,

David taught Mechanical Drawing and Blueprinting, Carpentry, and Construction at Henry County High School for more than 30 years. Affectionately known as “Doc” to his students, he was a devoted supporter of Henry County athletics. David was a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ and enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, and woodworking, but his grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Along with his wife, David is survived by two children, Renae Lassiter, and Rodney (Mendi) Lassiter; two grandchildren, Billee Lassiter, and Bodey Lassiter; and a brother-in-law, Doug (Debbie) Jackson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marla (Joe) Thompson, and Verla (Ronnie) Robinson; and a brother, Randy D. Lassiter.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Ridgeway Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and continue Friday, February 13, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, officiated by John Dale and Tom Sisco.

Burial will follow at New Beaverdam Cemetery with Rodney Lassiter, Bodey Lassiter, Greg Lassiter, Leon Rogers, Clint Sisco, and Tommy Hutson serving as pallbearers.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Fred Patterson, Kade Pearson, Kaleb Pearson, and Konnor Pearson.
