Diane Ball, age 76 of Paris, TN, died on Saturday, January 10, 2026
Diane was born in Knoxville, TN, to the late Joseph Benjamin Taliaferro and the late Ruby Lee Smyth Hill.
She was a former secretary for Vern Steedley State Farm and at WMUF Radio. She dedicated many years to nursing, working as an LPN at Henry County Medical Center and Murray Calloway County Hospital before retiring. Known for her passion for the outdoors, Diane loved spending time feeding wildlife and caring for her animals. She took great joy in her pets, which included a llama, miniature donkey, and her beloved dogs, Willie, Millie, and Bonnie. If she wasn't watching the home shopping networks, you could find her enjoying the beauty of nature. Diane is survived by her husband, William Van Ball; her cherished daughters, Melissa (Andy) Kent of Big Rock, TN, and Theresa Trenholm, of Paris, TN; stepchildren, Jackie (Forrest) Kemp of Paris, TN, and Jeff Ball of Clarksville, TN; her brother, Joseph Benjamin Taliaferro, Jr. of Alabama; grandchildren, Shana (Caleb) Sherrod, Andrea Kent, Wesley Kent, three grandsons, Brittany (Zach Edison) Kemp, and Amanda Kemp; great-grandchildren, Harley, Jimi, Juelz, Oakleigh, Ameigh’elle, Alleigh’gail, three great-grandsons, Dre, Brayden, and Bentley.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandmother, Mamie Aden, who helped raise her; and two sisters, Nancy Hopkins and Phyllis Lamb. A private graveside service to honor Diane’s life took place on January 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Rose Lawn Memory Garden, in Paris.
