Doris Owens

Doris Owens, age 84 of Buchanan, TN, died Friday, August 28, 2020, at her residence.

She was a homemaker and a Baptist by belief.  Doris loved knitting, cross-stitching, and fishing.  She enjoyed working in the yard, especially raking leaves.

Doris was born May 23, 1936, in Lake County, TN, to the late James Elmer Stewart and the late Haultress Lee Walker Stewart.

She is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Morris and her fiancé, Scott Greeley of Buchanan, TN, and Gail (Ronnie) Brown of Buchanan, TN; two sisters, Margaret (Larry) Smith of Ridgeley, TN, and Gladys Carpenter of Paris, TN; two brothers, Richard (Lanell) Stewart of Buchanan, TN, and Jackie (Liz) Stewart of Port Orange, FL; two grandchildren, Ronnie (Sarah) Brown, Jr., and Bobby Joe (Jennifer) Brown; and five great grandchildren, Madison Brown, Brock Brown, Keegan Brown, Destiny Brown, and Jacob Brown.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Peggy Waldron; and three brothers, Earl Stewart, Tommy Stewart, and Michael Stewart.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Saturday, September 5, 2020, from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 5, 2020, at 1:00 pm, with Randy Stephens officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Brown, Sr., Ronnie Brown, Jr., Bobby Joe Brown, Keegan Brown, Brock Brown, and Jacob Brown.  Named as an honorary pallbearer is Scott Greeley.

Burial will be in New Liberty Cemetery in Buchanan, TN.
