Dr. Mary Helen Wood

Dr. Mary Helen Wood, age 82 of Paris, TN, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Henry County Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Carey, ID, on June 26, 1944, to the late Roy Lenz Wood, and the late Betty Harris Wood.

Dr. Wood was a longtime Psychiatric Family Nurse Practitioner at Carey Counseling in Paris, TN. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Murray, KY, and a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.

She is survived by two sons, Major Samuel Walker of Huntsville, AL, and Captain Benjamin Walker of Bethpage, TN; three sisters, Susan Wood Chandler, Lola Kay Wood, and Lisa Wood Lemmons; four brothers, Bruce M. Wood, Darrel Dean Wood, James Roy Wood, and Brian Wood; five grandchildren, Ethan Walker, Ryan Walker, Maggie Walker, Molly Walker, and Grace Walker; and two step-sisters, Nancy Porter Wood and Athol Leane (Kim) Hetzel.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, is handling the arrangements. A memorial visitation will be held at Ridgeway Funeral Home on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the memorial service time at 11:00 a.m.
