The funeral service for Henry County native and retired carburetor plant employee William Edward Wright of Hollow Rock will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at New Hope United Methodist Church in Hollow Rock, where he was a member and had taught Sunday school for many years.

Robert Wright and Steve Whitworth will officiate. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery at Hollow Rock.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The Don Norwood family will be honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Ridgeway Funeral Home and after noon Sunday at the church.

Wright, 88, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at his residence.

His wife of 65 years, Rozelle Parker Wright, survives. They were married on Oct. 11, 1948.

Born April 5, 1925, in Mansfield, he was a son of the late William Fleetwood Wright and Delma Yarbrough Wright.

Wright graduated from Bethel University and was a World War II Navy veteran. He retired from Holley carburetor plant after 30 years as a tool designer. A family member said he raised blueberries and loved his John Deere tractor.

Besides his wife, he leaves one daughter: Judy (Ed) Johnson of Adamsville; two sons: John Gary (Sheryl) Wright of Hollow Rock and David Edward (Cynthia) Wright of Louisville, Ky.; two sisters: Peggy Summers and Betty (Wayne) Roberts, both of Hollow Rock; two brothers: Kenneth Wright of Paris and Tommy (Patricia) Wright of Buchanan; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
