Ellen Mancuso

Ellen Louise Mancuso, age 100, of Springville, TN, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Ellen was born August 10, 1924, to the late Jacob Franson and the late Edith Julin Franson in Fowler, IN.

She married the late Carl Mancuso on October 17, 1945, in Kankakee, IL.

Ellen enjoyed a long career as a purchasing agent for Shapiro Developmental Center in Kankakee, IL.

Ellen was a longtime member of Antioch Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and participated in the women’s group that regularly visited local nursing homes. She found great joy in spending time with her family, tending to her flowers, watercolor painting, working on puzzles, playing cards and dominoes, camping, fishing, and taking long walks. Earlier in her life, she also served as an ordained Elder at the First Presbyterian Church in Watseka, IL.

She is survived by five children, Alan (Carol) Mancuso of Lake Wales, FL, Ricky (Carrie) Mancuso of Sacramento, CA, Sandi (Rick) Wyss of Boerne, TX, Pam (John) Gorka of Waterloo, IL, and Dennis (Sue) Mancuso of Wesley Chapel, FL; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five sisters, four brothers, and one daughter-in-law, Carrie.

A memorial service will be held to honor Ellen’s life at Antioch Methodist Church, 3116 W Antioch Rd, Springville, TN 38256, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025.
