Emma Sue Smith age 72 of Henry died Friday, July 8, 2022, at her residence.
She was a member of the Church Outside the Walls in Ft. Smith, AR. Emma Sue enjoyed fishing, sitting on the porch watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and singing silly songs to everyone. In her younger years, she ran track and was a member of the TN State Guard. Picking on others and helping others gave her great joy. Emma Sue worked several years as a stocker at Wal-Mart before retiring.
Born January 18, 1950, in Wynne, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Josh Creekmore and the late Ellen Smith East.
Survivors include three children, Melissa Henson, Tammy (Joseph Densmore) Sands, and James Barlow all of Henry; a sister, Ida Geraldean Evans of Paris; five grandchildren, Alyssa Thompson, Tyler Hearn, Jessica (Aaron) Kennon, Sonya Hearn, and Donovan Diggs; eight great grandchildren, Kimber, Lorién, Jackson, Balor, Marli, Kai, Tyler Jr., and Jayden; a niece, Susan David, two nephews, Andy Bratton, and Scottie (Angela) Bratton; and a passel of other nieces and nephews.
Named as honorary grandchildren are Heaven Cazee, Fernando Corrales, Shawn Hendershot, Cara Hart, Nick Jones, and the late Tyee Hart.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Tracy Barlow, sisters, Wanda East, Frances Mullens, and Dorothy Creekmore; and her brothers, Kenneth De Bratton, Charlie Bratton, Jesse Creekmore, and Jackson Creekmore.
Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN 38242, will be handling the arrangements. Her body is to be cremated with memorial visitation to be held Saturday, July 16, 2022, from 9 until 11 am at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Her memorial service will be Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 11am at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
