Floyd Victor Slaughter, Jr.

Floyd Victor Slaughter, Jr., age 69 of Paris, TN, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Ahava Healthcare of Clarksville.

He was born in Memphis, TN, on October 8, 1956, to the late Floyd Victor Slaughter, Sr., and the late Helen Jo Ervin Slaughter.

He married Claudette Payne Slaughter on April 22, 1983. Claudette survives of Paris, TN.

Floyd was a 1973 graduate of Memphis Central High School and later attended Memphis State University, where he earned his associate degree. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1977 until 1979. Floyd had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, boating, and riding motorcycles. He was a longtime fan of Southern rock and outlaw country music. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and friends, especially when gathered for a backyard barbecue.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Tina (Ken) Magnum of Kuwait; Ashley Slaughter of Paris, TN; Zach Slaughter of Munford, TN, Matt (Faith) Slaughter of Paris, TN, and Paige (Gwin) Christian of Paris, TN; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by one daughter, Amy Turner; and five siblings, Debra Rogers, John Derosia, Mike Derosia, Phil Derosia, and Pat Derosia.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN 38242, is handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m.

Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Zach Slaughter, Matt Slaughter, Gwin Christian, Mike Swindell, Rob Payne, and Brian Turner to serve as pallbearers.
