Gary L. Willoughby, age 72 of Paris, died Thursday, January 28, 2021, at his residence.
He retired after many years as an electrician with E&W Electric. He formerly worked at Servall in Paris as a spray technician. Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, and family gatherings, and always had time to help somebody. He was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church in Paris.
Gary was born January 2, 1949, in Pontiac, MI, to the late James Thomas “J.T.” Willoughby and the late Patricia Wainscott Willoughby.
He was married October 22, 1984, to Ruth Ann Bates Willoughby, who survives, of Paris.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by his daughter, Brandi (Daniel Witherspoon) McClure of Big Sandy, TN; three sons, Brian Allen (Gina Thompson) Willoughby of Paris, Aaron Michael (Tracy McWherter) Willoughby of Paris, and William “Bill” (LaLania) Baynes of Dresden, TN; one sister, Patty (Jackie) Owen of Paris; one brother, John Thomas (Shirley) Willoughby of Paris; five grandchildren, Brandon Dunlap, Dylan (Kelly) Baynes, Ty Willoughby, Jase Willoughby, and Natalie Baynes; and one great grandchild, Tristan Baynes.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Kimberly Willoughby; one sister, Regina Owen; and two brothers, Dale Willoughby and Tommy Willoughby.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Sunday, January 31, 2021, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Mike Wimberley officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dakota Bates, David Witherspoon, Darius Hastings, Chris Smith, Jason Burner, Dustie Graves, Ty Willoughby, and Tony Smith.
Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Paris.
