Gilda Arguelles Craig

Gilda Arguelles Craig age 81, of Paris, TN, died Monday, August 12, 2025, at the Murray Calloway County Hospital in Murray, KY.

Born September 13, 1943, in Leyte, Philippines, she was one of thirteen children born to the late Zenon Arguelles, and the late Sexta Montilla Arguelles.

She married James D. Craig in September of 1965. He survives of Paris.

After marrying James, they enjoyed traveling across the country while he was enlisted in the US Navy. Gilda enjoyed being a Navy wife and being a home maker while raising her children. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and sharing her love for Filipino food with others. She was a lifelong Catholic in faith.

In addition to her husband of sixty years, she is also survived by four children, Maria (Robert) Knott of Wichita, KS, James A. “Jerry” Craig of Paris, Rey Craig of Louisville, KY, and Clint (Jacqueline) Craig of Dresden, TN; two sisters, Alice (Philip) Oberst of San Franciso, CA, and Hessa Arguelles of Leyte, Philippines; two brothers, Romeo (Dora) Arguelles, and Hil Arguelles, both of Leyte, Philippines; five grandchildren, Dakota Knott, Brandon Knott, Elena Craig, Matt (Devin) Craig, and Rebekah Craig; two great grandchildren, Farin and Tillie Craig; and a brother in law, Dwayne (Sue) Craig of Buchanan, TN.

In addition to her parents, Gilda was also preceded in death by eight siblings.

Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St./P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242, will be handling the arrangements. Her body is to be cremated, and a private family service will be held at a later date to bury her cremated remains in Bethel Cemetery in Buchanan.
