Gini Lynn Greer, age 67, of Paris, TN, died Sunday, August 30, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by family, following a brief battle with cancer.
Gini was born January 22, 1959, in Paris, TN, to the late Kenneth and Margaret Rick. She earned her Master of Social Work and dedicated her career to helping others, working as a substance abuse counselor and previously as a youth counselor. Gini understood that a person's struggles did not define them. She saw the person first. She believed everyone had value, deserved to be loved, and deserved the opportunity to do better.
Gini had a kind and giving heart. If someone needed something, she found a way to help, even when she had little to give herself. She welcomed family, friends, and others into her home and made sure people knew they were loved and accepted. That giving heart extended to her church and her community, where she continued to encourage and help others throughout her life.
Gini was a fighter until the end. Even during her final days, she continued learning and working toward her next degree. She never stopped moving forward, helping others, or believing in people.
Gini is survived by four children, Brandi (Allen) Besand of Murray, KY; Amanda (Bubba) Black of Clarksville, TN; Joshua (Morgan) Greer of Paris; and Daniel Greer of Paris; eight grandchildren, Starlyn Reed, Drew Thach, Cooper Thach, Brooklyn (Dylan) Nash, Macy (fiancé Adam Chapman) Brown, Lucas Greer, Wesley Greer, and Samuel Greer; four great-grandchildren, Maisyn, Mavery, Margaret, and Graycen; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eleven siblings.
Her grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
