The funeral service for Henry Willis Hobby of Paris will be at 3 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, where he was a member.  Robert D. Martin and Trent Bullock will officiate. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery.

Named as pallbearers are Don Parker, Robert Wells, Jimmy Clendenin, Brian Tusa, Hansel McCadams, Emory Bradley and Jerry Brogdon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wendell Flanagan, Jerry Evans, Tom Hainley and Vince Tusa.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thurdsay at Ridgeway Funeral Home and after 1 p.m. Friday at the church.

Hobby, 78, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Paris Healthcare Center.

His wife, Martha Jane Conger Hobby, survives. They were married on July 24, 1965.  Born Feb. 20, 1935, in Paris, he was the son of Henry Willis Hobby and Lasker DeLillian Finch Hobby, now both deceased.

Hobby was a longtime member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. He was one of the first of five that began work for the Henry County Ambulance Service when it started on Jan. 1, 1969. He also was a longtime Helping Hand volunteer and an American Cancer Society fundraiser.

Besides his wife, he leaves one daughter: Jane (Abe) Ewing of Monroe, Ga.; three sons: Donald (Kathy) Redden and Mitch (Tammy) Hobby, both of Paris, and Kelley (Teresa) Redden of Springville; Four grandchildren: Timothy Boone, Staci Michael, Christina Lexa McNally and Steven Lexa; and two great-grandchildren: Brandon Redden and Dawson Charles; and a special niece: Patsy Evans.

A sister, Virginia Ann Smith, also preceded him in death.
