Jack Norwood, age 85 of Paris, TN, died Thursday, April 22, 2021, at his residence.
He retired after 25 ½ years with the Paris Fire Department. He also laid carpet in the area for many years with Paschall & Sons. Jack loved fishing, hunting turkey and deer.
Jack was born December 17, 1935, in Mansfield, TN, to the late Stanley Norwood and the late Susie Webb Norwood.
He was married October 1, 1955, to Mary Lou French Norwood, who survives, of Paris.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by his daughter Mana Jo (John) Cleaver of Destin, FL; his son, Randy (Veronica) Norwood of Morehead, KY; four grandchildren, Ryan Norwood, Lauren (Tim) Cunningham, Matthew Cleaver, and Sean Cleaver; two great grandchildren, Norah Cunningham, and Layla Cunningham; one nephew, Alton Wright; and one niece, Jan Richards.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Beatrice Wright; and two brothers, John Robert Norwood and Charles Stanley Norwood, Jr.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Sunday, April 25, 2021, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Joel Turner officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Cleaver, Sean Cleaver, Kenny Deel, Curtis Neal, Tim Cunningham, and Ryan Norwood. Named as honorary pallbearers are Larry Dunlap, Bobby Flowers, Alton Wright, Bill Joe French, Wendall Flanagan, and Orville Oeser.
Entombment will be in Mansfield Baptist Church Cemetery in Mansfield, TN.
