Jackie C. “Jack” Valentine, age 81 of Paris, TN, died Monday, October 5, 2020, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.
He was a member of East Wood Church of Christ. Jack formerly owned and operated Oakland Small Engines. He was a US Army veteran serving as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division. He enjoyed fixing things and tinkering in his shop.
Jack was born January 26, 1939, in Puryear, TN, to the late Paul Daniel Valentine and the late Vernell Campbell Valentine.
He was married July 4, 1959, to Peggy Joyce Lewis Valentine and she survives of Paris, TN.
Along with his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Jill Valentine of Paris, TN; one son, Jeff (Londa) Valentine of Paris, TN; two sisters, Polly Arnold of Paris, TN, and Pat (Danny) Scoggins of Antioch, TN; five grandchildren, Amy (Michael) Turner, Laura Blake, Hunter Goforth, Andrew (Ashley) Blake, and Toni (Logan) McCollum; and five great grandchildren, Isabella Blake, Cannon Turner, Jackson Blake, Blaine Turner, and Jack Henry McCollum.
Beside his parents, Jack was also preceded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth Joy Goforth; one son, Paul Daniel Valentine, II; one sister, Barbara V. Hassell; and one grandchild, Seth Goforth.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN. His body is to be cremated. Memorial visitation will be Thursday, October 8, 2020 from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Ridgway Funeral Home, with a memorial service to be held at 5:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Roger Banks officiating.
Named as honorary pallbearers are Barry Farmer, Andrew Blake, Hunter Goforth, Michael Turner, Logan McCollum, Keith Lewis, Jon Hassell, and Mark Arnold.
