James Damon "J.D." Lane

James Damon “J.D.” Lane, age 85 of Cottage Grove, TN, died Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at his residence.

He was a member of North Fork Baptist Church.  J.D. enjoyed wood-working, flea marketing, and loved people.  He was one of the first to retire from Celotex, in Paris, where he had worked for many years.

J.D. was born July 1, 1938, to the late Damon Lane and the late Rose Gibson Lane.

He was married May 18, 1957, to Barbara Ann Ricketts Lane, who survives, of Cottage Grove, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by two daughters, Tammie A. (John) Lee of Jackson, TN, and Alice Sharee (Edward) Bush of Cottage Grove, TN; two sons, Damon A. (Holly) Lane of Paris, TN, and Rocky Montell (Shellie) Lane of Cottage Grove, TN; one daughter-in-law, Annette Lane of Como, TN; one sister, Barbara Lane of Alabama; 44 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, James Terry Lane; and five brothers and sisters.

A private service was held at Lane-Bush Cemetery in Cottage Grove, TN.
