Jimmy Spann

James Hale “Jimmy” Spann, age 80 of Paris, formerly of the Crossland Community, died Monday, July 6, 2026, at the Patriot Health and Rehabilitation Center in Paris.

Jimmy was a former firefighter with over twenty years of service. He owned and operated Spann Used Cars and JHS Contractors. He was Baptist in belief. 

Born December 6, 1945, in Murray, KY, he was the son of the late Rufous “Rufe” Spann and the late Icle “LB” Kuykendall Spann.

He married Debra Outland Spann in 1993, and she survives of Paris.

In addition to his wife of 33 years, he is also survived by his daughter, Shawnaree (Joe) Sanders of Paris, and two grandchildren, Emilee Brown and Shawn David Brown.

Along wit his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, Pam Spann; a son in law, David Brown; a sister, Janice Wilson, and a brother, Dale Spann.

Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN 38242, will be handling his arrangements. His body will be cremated with a memorial visitation to be held Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. His memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Randy Kuykendall officiating.

Honorary pallbearers for the service will be Rickie Spann and Shawn David Brown.

Burial of his cremated remains will immediately follow the service in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Puryear.
