James Robert "Jim" Rowlett

James Robert “Jim” Rowlett, age 77 of Paris, TN, went to see his Lord & Savior Thursday, March 11, 2021, at his residence.

He was the longtime co-owner of Carpet World USA.  He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Paris.  Jim formerly owned and operated his car lot, “Trader Jim”, and ran McKee Supply, the EZ Ryder Trailer Company, and Mobile Sign.  He enjoyed trips to the Gulf, bowling, and collecting Tennessee cars and coins.  Jimmy was a former Little League baseball coach in Henry County.  He was a member of the Paris Optimist Club and was a Mason.

Jim was born July 31, 1943, in Paris, TN to the late Chesley Andrew Rowlett and the late Dorothy Blanche Bomar Rowlett.

He was married June 4, 1961, to his wife of 59 years, Vickie Gail McKee Rowlett, who survives, in Paris.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by his daughter, Mitzi Gail Bryant of Largo, FL; his son, James Robert “Robb” (Brittney) Rowlett, Jr., of Hendersonville, TN; one sister, Ruby Jane Buffington, and the late Roger Buffington, of Paris; four grandchildren, Joseph Matthew Eaker, Toni Samantha Stube, Victoria Gail Stube, and Blake Robert Rowlett; and one great grandchild, Patrick O’dell.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Friday, March 12, 2021, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and continue Saturday, March 13, 2021, from 9:00 am – 11:00 am at Fairview Baptist Church, 114 Memorial Drive, Paris, TN 38242.  The funeral service will be Saturday, March 13, 2021, at 11:00 am at Fairview Baptist Church, with Dr. Johnathan Smith officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert “Rookie” Edwards, Rod Buffington, Russ Buffington, Paul Tanner, Ray Houston, and Dorris Rowlett.  Named as honorary pallbearers are Kenny Linsman, Jerry Lewis, Bob Cathey, and Blake Rowlett.

Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris.
