Jean Walker Cloar, age 95 of Paris, TN, died Sunday, July 26, 2020, at her residence.
Jean retired after working over 30 years with Extension Service of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, where she taught Home Economics. She was a member of the Paris Women’s Club, United Methodist Women, the Bridge Club, and the National Association of Retired Home Economists. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Paris.
Jean was born October 23, 1924, in New Boston, TN, to the late Burrow James Walker and the late Iva McDaniel Walker.
She was married November 16, 1946, to A. E. Cloar, who preceded her in death on June 1, 2018.
Jean is survived by two sons, Jim (Bonnie) Cloar of Paris, TN, and Steve (Ruth) Cloar of Paris, TN; five grandchildren, Alan (Cheryl) Cloar, Jennifer Cloar, Shane (Melissa) Cloar, Alicia Stewart, Justin (Paige) Thompson; eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; two sisters in law, Faye L. Walker of Madisonville, TN and Sarah Cloar of Hermitage, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Walker and Bill Walker.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at Ridgeway Funeral Home from 3 – 5 pm. The funeral service will be at 5:00 pm Wednesday at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Rev. Alan “Jac” Cloar, Rev. Cheryl Cloar, and Rev. Joy Weathersbee officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Alan Cloar, Timothy Cloar, Shane Cloar, Justin Thompson, T. J. Johnson, Emerson Vick, and Bill Gill.
Burial will follow in the Rose Lawn Memory Garden in Paris, TN.
