Jimmy Wilson

Jimmy Wilson, age 78 of Paris, TN, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born in Paris, TN, on September 23, 1947, to the late Waddell L. Wilson, and the late Frances Bucy Wilson.

Jimmy married Sherrill Stephens Wilson on May 15, 1999. Sherrill survives of Paris, TN.

Jimmy owned and operated Wilson’s Grocery for more than 40 years. He was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ and also attended Henry Baptist Church. He loved a good conversation and enjoyed spending time with family, especially during their weekly meals and gatherings. He also enjoyed sitting on the porch and spending time on his Massey Ferguson tractor. Jimmy was very proud of his family, especially his grandchildren and their accomplishments.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Jon (Amanda) Wilson of Paris, TN, Danny (Carrie) Thweatt of Hernando, MS, Darren (Shea) Thweatt of Jackson, TN, and John Sutton of Henry, TN; a sister, Jan (Charlie) Neal of Medina, TN; and 27 total grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by a son, Joey Thweatt; and siblings, Betty Lovelady, Jackie Wilson, and Johnny Wilson.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is handling the arrangements. His remains are to be cremated with a memorial visitation to be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home. A graveside memorial service will be held at Memorial Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026, officiated by John Sutton.

Serving as pallbearers will be Adrian Cole, Eddie Turner, Charlie Neal, Carl Ray Hoofman, Donald Dunning, Lane Sutton, and Tony DiVito.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dalton Patterson and Jerry Culpepper.
