Joe Edward King

Joe Edward King, age 79 of Camden, TN, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at West Tennessee Healthcare- Henry County Hospital.

Joe was born in Golddust, TN, on March 26, 1947, to the late Ashley King, and the late Ruth Love King.

On November 29, 1968, he married Marilyn Shelton King. Marilyn survives of Camden, TN.

Joe joined the U.S. Army in 1966 and continued to serve until 1972. After his time in the service, he went on to work for Murray Guard in Jackson, TN, before working security at Dyerburg Fabrics. Joe enjoyed fishing, building and woodworking, and playing the guitar.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Julie King Hall of Paris, TN; brother, Richard (Melba) King of Los Angeles, CA; two grandchildren, Shelton (Kelli Quinn) King, and Molly (Joseph) Newell; longtime friend, William “Tiny” Collins; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Along with his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his siblings, Bessie Peacock, Dorothy Holman, James King, Roy King, Troy King, Leon King, and J.W. King.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is handling the arrangements. His remains are to be cremated with no public services to be held.
