Joey Choate

Joey Choate, age 68 of Cottage Grove, TN, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, at his residence.

Joey was born November 22, 1956, in Cairo, IL, to the late Wendell Hoyt Choate, and the late Annie Lovell Larkins Choate.

He was married to Pam Dumas Choate, who survives of Cottage Grove.

He was known for being a kind, generous, strong, and quiet man. His favorite place was his farms in Cottage Grove and Dorena, MO. Joey enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding around on his farms as well as spending time with his friends and family.

In addition to his wife, Joey is survived by three children, Luke (Johanna) Choate of Almo, KY, Josh Choate of Dorena, MO, and Hannah (Ethan) Van der Walt of East Prairie, MO; two brothers, Hoyt (Renee) Choate of Hazel, KY, and Dan (Carla) Choate of Ridgway, CO; one sister, Beth Choate of Charleston, MO; six grandchildren, Farren Milam, Adalynn Choate, Meira Choate, Darcy Choate, Malachi Choate, and Lorelai Choate; several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews; and his dog, Buster.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Alison Choate.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is handling the arrangements. His remains are to be cremated with no public services to be held.

Memorial Donations can be made to American Cancer Society in honor of Lovell Larkins Choate.
