John E Griffin

John Edward Griffin, died January 6, 2026, at the age of 78 at his residence in Paris.

Born on October 7, 1947, in Hazard, Kentucky to the late Edward Griffin and to the late Nora Neace Nichols.

In April 1990, he married Valorie Moore Adams, who survives of Paris, TN.

John served proudly in the U.S. Army, where he was awarded a Purple Heart for his bravery. After his service, he dedicated over 30 years to the Huntingdon Housing Authority, working as a maintenance supervisor.

Outside of work, John was a true outdoorsman. He loved spending time hunting and fishing, finding peace and joy in nature. He was a valued member of the Paris Moose Lodge. 

John is survived by his beloved wife, Valorie Moore Adams, and his children, John E. Griffin, Joni (Robb) Cool, and Meredith (Steven) Attaway; grandchildren, Owen (Jade) Smith, McKenzie Grace Attaway, Madison Faith Attaway, Robert Cool IV, Nathan Griffey, John Goad, McGregor Goad, Audrey Crabtree, Shawn Hendershot, Lance Adams, Maya Cool, Robby Cook (Nicole Hartshorn); great-grandchildren, Alice Smith, Briar Griffey, Porter Griffey, Delilah Crabtree, and Oliver Hendershot.

Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Sue Wilson.

Ridgeway Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. His remains are to be cremated and there are no services planned at this time.
