John D. “Johnny” Hudson, age 80 of Paris, TN, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN.
Johnny was born in Paris, TN, on December 20, 1944, to the late Robert Lee Hudson, and the late Betty Jean Peeples Hudson.
On June 6, 1964, he married Ann Joyner Hudson, who survives of Paris, TN.
Johnny was a family-oriented man who would do anything that his family needed. He spent time rebuilding cars and even built his family’s home. He enjoyed helping and getting to fellowship with others. Johnny loved to sing and play guitar as well as teaching his grandchildren how to play the guitar.
He was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church for many years and was ordained as a Deacon in 2016. Johnny was heavily involved in the Nativity Scene each Christmas. He spent time ministering in the Henry County Jail and was involved with The Gideons International, sharing Bibles across the community.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Beverly (Tom) Baker of Bartlett, TN; his twin brother, James Lee (Barbara) Hudson of Paris, TN; sister-in-law, Patricia Hudson; five grandchildren, Nathan (Emily) Shoemaker of Medina, TN, Joshua (Kaitlyn) Shoemaker of Knoxville, TN, Lydia (Jeff) Walker of Louisville, KY; Caleb Shoemaker of Bartlett, TN, and Jonathan Shoemaker of Bartlett, TN; five great-grandchildren, Jude, Jennings, Janie, Stevie, and one expected to arrive in November 2025; and special friend, Steve (Pam) Daniels.
In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Dale Hudson.
Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is handling the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, September 22, 2025, at New Harmony Baptist Church from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., with the Funeral Service beginning at 3:00 p.m. officiated by Howard Kitter.
Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery.
