Johnnie Lewis Dicus, age 61 of Newbern, TN, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN.

Johnnie was born in Chicago, IL, on August 10, 1964, to the late Harold Eugene Dicus, and the late Marie Long Dicus.

He served eight years in the U.S. Navy as an aviation technician, including time stationed in Greece, Italy, and France, and was a part of Operation Desert Storm.

After his military service, he pursued his passion for technology by owning and operating Dicus Data and later teaching computer applications at the Tennessee Technology Center in Paris, Tennessee, where he was well-loved by his students.

Johnnie was a self-proclaimed “nerd,” with a love for Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, and The Lord of the Rings. In his free time, he enjoyed playing video games and spending time with his family, especially his granddog, Stella. Above all, he loved his daughters and considered them his greatest accomplishments.

Johnnie is survived by two daughters, Arianna (Richard) Ellison of Murray, KY, and Allisyn (David) Senner of Liberty, TN; sister, Debbie Hughes, brother, Jeffrey (Deanna) Dicus, stepmother, Jane Dicus; and chosen family members, Nathan (Jenilee) Williams, and Christopher (Jessica) Painter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Tony Hughes.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is handling the arrangements. His remains are to be cremated with a Celebration of Life to be held at Paris Station on Saturday, April 4, 2026, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
