Kathie Virginia Barnes

Kathie Virginia Barnes, age 69 of Dresden, TN, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Kathie was born in Paris, TN, on March 23, 1957, to the late William Elza Rockett and Virginia Rockett Barner, who survives of Dresden, TN.

She married Ray Barnes on June 9, 1979. Ray survives of Gleason, TN.

Kathie was a member of Dresden Pentecostal Church, where she dearly loved her church family. She was a loving and encouraging person who cared deeply for everyone around her, especially her husband and son. She enjoyed thrift shopping, fishing, singing, playing music, and spending time with her two beloved birds, Buddy and Crickett. Kathie brought love and kindness to those around her and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband and mother, Kathie is survived by one son, Josiah Barnes of Paris, TN; one sister, Linda Burnine; one nephew, Chris (Lisa) Burnine; one niece, Cassie Henry; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Along with her father, she was preceded in death by one infant sister, Diana Jean Rockett; and one brother-in-law, Jr. Burnine.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is handling the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Dresden Pentecostal Church, 581 TN-118, Dresden, TN, 38225. The funeral service will begin at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Daniel Rutledge officiating.

Burial will follow at Blooming Grove Primitive Baptist Cemetery, 459 Blooming Grove Rd, Palmersville, TN, 38241.
