Kelly Gene Rose age 77 of Paris died Saturday, May 25, 2024, at AHC Paris.
Kelly formerly worked as a mill operator for Southern Clay in Paris. He enjoyed woodworking, piddling in the yard, and in his younger years, playing the guitar. The love of his life was his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of and former deacon of Fairview Baptist Church, and a US Army veteran.
Born November 23, 1946, in Pineville, KY, he was one of twelve children born to the late John Lewis Rose and the late Mary Ellen Clark Rose.
Kelly married Barbara Clouse Rose January 31, 1969, and she survives of Paris.
In addition to his wife, he was also survived by his two children, Angie (Doug) Ray of Gallatin, TN, and Brian (Amberly) Rose of Hazel, KY; two sisters, Helen Bennett of Arizona, and Sharon Ramage of Olmsted, IL; four brothers, Reed (Barbara) Rose of Paris, Elmer Rose of Olmsted, IL, John (Bobbie) Rose of Olmsted, IL, and his twin brother Kenneth (Debra) Rose of Franklin, KY; five grandchildren, Jared Ray, Hannah (Wes) Rose Frohs, Olivia (Grant) Rose Hackney, Raely Perry and her fiancé, Jacob Robinson, and Bryson Rose; and two great grandchildren, Benton Rowes Hackney, and Asher Douglas Frohs.
Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews, whom Kelly loved dearly, and a special sister-in-law, Beth Drummond.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by four sisters, Brenda Whiteside, Alma Drew, Verna Hollon, and Marie Rickett; a brother, Travis Rose; and his beloved dog, Shaggy.
Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St., / P.O. Box 788 Paris, TN 38242, will be handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Ridgeway Funeral Home from 1 until 3 p.m., with his funeral service and military honors to follow at 3 p.m., with Dr. Johnathan Smith officiating.
Honorary pallbearers for the service will be his brothers, grandsons, and his brother-in-law Ray Parks.
Cremation will follow the service.
