Leonard Virgil "Pete" Clayton

Leonard Virgil “Pete” Clayton, age 80 of Paris, TN, died Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at AHC in Paris.

He retired after several years as a security guard with Maxxguard.  Pete loved the outdoors.  His favorites were fishing and camping, especially with his kids and grandchildren.  Pete was an avid Nascar and basketball fan.  His last opportunity to attend a live sporting event was with his daughters at a Memphis Grizzlies game.  It is a memory they will cherish forever.

Pete was born November 3, 1940, in Buchanan, TN, to the late Leonard Virgil Clayton and the late Vela Grey Lamb Clayton.

He is survived by four daughters, Kimberly (Michael) Kokkonen of Gilbert, AZ, LaDonna Snider of Palm Coast, FL, Amy Clayton Odom of Paris, TN, and Christy (Mark) Lindsey of Collierville, TN; one sister, Joyce Pflueger Ballentine of Humboldt, TN; and eleven grandchildren; Brandon Moore, Olivia Kokkonen, Peyton Kokkonen, Stephen Snider, Amanda Snider, Sean Snider, Angela Snider, Brevin Odom, Phoebe Odom, Owen Lindsey, and Bennie Lindsey.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Betty Thompson.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  The body is to be cremated with a private family service to be planned at a later date.
