Louise was born in Iriquois County, IL, on May 31, 1920.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Eva Dezern Bury, and by her beloved husband of 61 years, Robert David Nelson.  She is survived by a sister, Marie Morts of Hoopeston, IL.  She is also survived by her sons, Robert David Nelson II (Ann) and Daniel Bury Nelson (Pat); grandchildren, Bryan Daniel Nelson (Ellie), Robert David Nelson III (Dacia), and Natalie Elizabeth Skipper (Brad); nine great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins with whom she remained in contact with over the years.

Louise and her husband lived in many parts of the country during the war years, and they moved to Paris in 1949.  At the Paris Country Club she learned how to play golf, one of the great passions of her life.  She accomplished a hole-in-one when she was 75 and was still playing tournaments well into her 90’s.  Louise was a member of the First United Methodist Church.  She was active in many social and service clubs and organizations.  She moved to Knoxville, TN in 1965 where she lived until 2019 when she returned to Paris and resided at RoseStone until her death.
