Marjorie Conyers VanDyke, age 100 of Paris, TN, died Saturday May 13, 2023 at her home in Brentwood, TN.
Marjorie’s passion was her family, especially her grandkids. She loved playing bridge with friends and family as well as golf in her younger years. She was a devoted member of Paris First United Methodist Church for 65 years. She worked as the Materials Coordinator for the Paris Special School District for 20 years and then Higgs & Matthews Dress Shop.
Marjorie was born July 16, 1922 in Memphis, TN, to the late Herman Lee Conyers and the late Edna Gertrude Montgomery Conyers.
She was married April 18, 1944, to Joe Van Dyke who preceded her in death on April 24, 2007.
Marjorie, is survived by three children, Terry (Janice) Van Dyke of Brentwood, TN, Molly (the late David) Hunsucker of Brentwood, Leigh (John) Watkins of Paris, TN; three grandchildren, Leigh Ann (Luke) Emerson of Brentwood, Alex Watkins of Nashville and Austin Watkins of Paris; and three great grandchildren, Parker Emerson, Hudson Emerson, and Rush Emerson of Brentwood.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Greg Van Dyke in 1997.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. A graveside service will be Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 11:00 am at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Gary Collier and Joy Weathersbee officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Paris First United Methodist Church Children and Youth Program.
