Mary Duffy Fronckowiak

Mary Duffy Fronckowiak, age 76 of Paris, TN, formerly of Buffalo, NY, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026, at her residence.

Mary was born in Rochester, NY, on December 26, 1949, to the late Gavan Duffy, and the late Esther O’Dea Duffy.

She later married Andrew F. Fronckowiak in Henrietta, NY, on October 18, 1975. Andrew survives of Paris, TN.

Mary was a longtime member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Orchard Park, NY. She graduated from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY, with her bachelor’s degree in 1971 before earning her doctorate in Biophysics from the University at Buffalo. She worked as a Neuro-Research Scientist with the Buffalo Foundation Research Group until 1989, then continued her career at Millard Fillmore Research Hospital and later with the University at Buffalo Neurosurgery Department, where she worked until 2015.

She enjoyed Irish music and dancing, especially Royal Scottish Country Dancing. She was a member of the Buffalo Royal Scottish Country Dancing Club and served as its event planner for more than 10 years. She also enjoyed reading and was known for her collection of turtles. Above all, Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family.

In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by one daughter, Sinead (Tony) Tatro of Paris, TN; three sisters, Terry Eichas and Elizabeth (Tim) Weit, both of Hilton, NY, and Bernadette Duffy of Henrietta, NY; and four grandchildren, Isla Tatro, Ethan Tatro, Megan Tatro, and Carson Tatro.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother-in-law, John Eichas.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN 38242, is handling the arrangements. Her remains are to be cremated with no public services to be held at this time. The family is to hold a Celebration of Life at a later time.
