Mary Sue Barnhill

June 27, 1933 — September 6, 2022

Mary Sue Barnhill, age 89 of Buchanan, TN, died Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at her residence.

She worked at Markel Lighting in the late 1970’s, but most of her time was spent on the farm taking care of her family.  Mary would always have homemade biscuits & gravy on the stove early in the morning to eat before her children would go off to school.  She was a member of Point Pleasant Baptist Church.

Mary was born June 27, 1933, in Murray, KY, to the late Robert Miller and the late Minnie Jane Fulton Miller

She was married August 15, 1952, to William Audra Barnhill, who preceded her in death on December 6, 2008.

She is survived by four daughters, Susan Hillard, Debbie Day, Freda Barnhill, all of Buchanan, TN, and Tammy (Steve) Jones of Paris; one son, Glen (Barbara) Miller of Auburn, MI; 14 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by three sisters, Jessie Mae Wyatt, Ida Mae Counts, and Odessey West; and five brothers, A.B. Miller, T.C. Miller, Leonard Miller, James Miller, and Billy Miller.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  A graveside service will be held Friday, September 9, 2022, at 11:00 am at Shady Grove Cemetery in Paris, TN, with Chad Kennedy officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Boyd, Dustan Hillard, Cody Hillard, Chad Miller, and Roger Camper.
