Rickey Allen Burton, age 68 of Elgin, IL, died Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL.
Rickey moved to Chicago, IL, when he was five years old and was a polio survivor. He graduated from high school and went on to take business classes. He worked for Continental Bank in downtown Chicago for 20 years. In 1993, Rickey retired to Buchanan, TN. He loved fishing, music, cooking on the grill, and his friends and family. He was always there if someone needed him. He will be deeply missed.
Rickey was born July 16, 1953, in Huntington, WV, to the late James Lonnie Burton and the late Lenora Lena Burton.
He is survived by two daughters, Daniell (Mohd) Abualsayyed of Lyons, IL, and Shelbie Burton of Gleason, TN; one son, Scott Burton of Carpentersville, IL; grandchildren, Ammerah, Henna, Youseff, Sammy, Madleen all of Lyons, IL, Elija and Bowie of Carpentersville, IL, and Alexander Burton of Overland Park, MO; two sisters, Bobbie Wiginton of Springville, TN, and Linda Bannon of Paris, TN; one brother, Michael (Phyllis) Burton of Paris, TN; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Collins and Pat Mayer; one brother, Gary Osborne; and three nephews, Danny Lee Collins, Richard Wiginton, and Johnny Wiginton.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Sunday, December 12, 2021, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mohd Abualsayyed, Youseff Abualsayyed, Sammy Abualsayyed, Keenan Bannon, and Issac Burton.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris, TN.
