Robert Richard “Dick” Cochran, age 87, of Paris, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 4, 2026, surrounded by the comfort and the grace of God.
Dick was born in Paris on April 3, 1939, to the late Robert Terrell Cochran and Alma Renda Powers Cochran. A lifelong member of the community, he lived a life rooted in faith, kindness, and quiet strength. He was a devoted member and elder of the Paris Community of Christ Church, where his faith was not only professed but lived out through his actions, compassion, and service to others. He believed in doing what was right, loving his family deeply, and trusting in the Lord through all seasons of life.
On September 20, 1958, he married the love of his life, Connie Lynn Anderson Cochran, who survives him. Their marriage was a beautiful example of devotion, partnership, and enduring love. Dick found joy in life's simple pleasures. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and appreciating the outdoors. He had a special fondness for animals, especially his dogs, who were a constant source of companionship and comfort throughout his life.
He dedicated 30 years of his career to Clark Equipment before retiring, later continuing his work with Volvo for 10 years and the State of Tennessee Department of Agriculture. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, running cross country, and watching softball.
He cherished the time he spent with those closest to him, whether enjoying a quiet moment or sharing laughter with loved ones.
He is lovingly remembered by his three children: Richard Michael (Dana) Cochran of Berrien Center, Michigan, David Scott (Karen) Cochran of Cottage Grove, Tennessee, and Michelle Lynn Piggott of Paris, Tennessee. His five grandchildren Amber (Jake) Karrels, Chris (Kaela) Cochran, Karla (Aaron) Tennant, Joseph (Olivia) Cochran and Maci Piggott. He is also survived by his sister, JoAnn Pottorff; brother-in-law, Richard (Loretta) Anderson; and ten great-grandchildren, each of whom was a special blessing in his life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marlene (Joe) Smith and Renda (Lynn) Brown.
Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord, reunited with those who have gone before him.
Cremation arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home of Paris, Tennessee. In accordance with his wishes, a service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to Paris Community of Christ, 1404 Lone Oak Rd, Paris, TN.
