Robert Earl Madison, age 79 of Paris, TN, passed away on September 5, 2025, at Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.
Born on December 3, 1945, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Robert lived a full and spirited life marked by devotion to family, hard work, and a passion for the outdoors.
He shared 34 years of marriage with his beloved wife Kathryn (Dillard) Madison. Their bond was one of deep affection and mutual respect, and they were devoted companions throughout their life together.
Robert retired from General Motors in Indianapolis after a dedicated career of 30 years. His work ethic and commitment left a lasting impression on those who knew him throughout his professional life.
Robert is survived by his loving wife Kathryn; his brother Donald Madison; his son William H. England III; his daughter Cassandra M. Hall; grandson Ricky Hall Jr. and his wife Courtney; granddaughter Shelby N Hall and her spouse Quinn; great-granddaughter Braleigh E. Hall; as well as several nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Martha Madison and his sister Charlene Coulter.
Robert enjoyed NHRA races and drag racing as well as fishing. He loved varmint hunting—a pastime that connected him to nature and earned him the affectionate nickname “Groundhog Man” among those in his hometown of Buchanan, Tennessee.
A funeral service honoring Robert’s life will be held at: Forest Lawn Funeral 1977 S. St. Rd. 135, Greenwood, IN 46143 on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 1:00 pm until the time of service. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Robert will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. A celebration of life will be held in Tennessee at a later date.
